TX Active - Bianchi is the official 2010 Bianchi MTB team competing in the international UCI calendar. Winner of a world championship and three national championships in 2009, team TX Active-Bianchi chases the victory in the major MTB and cyclo-cross races around the world.
Italian based Italcementi Group, the fifth largest cement producer in the world, is main sponsor of the team with the TX Active® brand, an eco-friendly cement product ideated at providing an innovative industrialized solution to the problem of pollution in cities. Bianchi and Italcementi truly believe in a sustainable development and in the true values of sport. Bianchi supplies the team with the new Methanol SL and the Cross Concept Carbon - projected for cross races.
Felice Gimondi, President of TX Active-Bianchi team, perfectly embodies the team spirit as well as Team Manager Massimo Ghirotto. Their philosophy is that success is a result of team work, individual excellence and investment on young athletes. They have developed a well balanced team of talented young riders that is built upon this experience and their history of winning. According to Gimondi’s way of thinking, the team maintains an important social role as both Italcementi and Bianchi deliver a strong ecological message through the mountain bike activity.
TX Active-Bianchi international line-up for 2010 season consists of five riders: Ricardo Marinheiro from Portugal, Colombia’s duo Julio Caro and Leonardo Paez, who won the national title in 2009 using the Methanol SL frame. The teamis completed by French biker Stephan Tempier and Cristian Cominelli from Italy. Cominelli claimed the victory at the XCO World Championship (team relay) in 2009 and has been awarded national champion several times, both in MTB and cross events.
As part of the team development programme, TX Active-Bianchi aims to deliver young athletes to the upper-level in a professional way, without any kind of pressure, inspiring them to fulfil their sporting potential: the passion to educate youngsters made the team well known as one of the best talent nurseries in Italy.
The 2010 junior team includes seven talented bikers: juniors Cesare Fognini, Edoardo Togni and Filippo Galli together with Federico Barri and Cristian Boffelli (16 years old). Also in the team are Giorgio Rossi and Oscar Vairetti (13 years old). Andrea Ferrero is Team Manager.
