Active - Bianchi: this is the name of the official MTB Bianchi team that will face the 2009 season. The team has been enlivening the panorama of international mountain bike world since 1991. From 2009, it can rely on the presence of Italcementi, a leader company in the production of building materials. TX
Active is the name of an innovative product that has been patented by Italcementi, an active photocatalytic principle for cement products. In 2009, the MTB team wil use the Bianchi
Oetzi Carbons.
The team spirit is the secret of the team led by president Felice
Gimondi. The agreement between the technical staff and the athletes and the relations based on the mutual collaboration inside all the entourage of the team, have made possible for the team to overcome difficulties and to share many successes.
This year the team gets rich of the presence of Andrea
Tiberi, Italian elite athlete, who takes the place of Thomas Dietsch. Moreoever, the team relies on the presence of Colombian bikers Leonardo
Paez and Julio Caro. In 2008, Paez won the World Cup marathon and the title of national champion. From Colombia to France: Stephane
Tempier will also face the major appointments of the MTB calendar in the saddle of his Bianchi. The bunch of the Celeste bikers is completed by Cristian
Cominelli, U23 Italian cycle-cross champion.
The team is led by Massimo Ghirotto with the collaboration of Andrea
Ferrero as far as the young section of the team is concerned. As usual, the philosophy of Gimondi and of his staff focuses on the involvement of young talented bikers next to athletes of great expertise. In Bianchi breeding-ground many talents became great champions: one for all, Julien Absalon. In 2009, juniores Cesare
Fognini and Filippi Galli will enter the court of Gimondi together with Edoardo
