    UK Cyclosportive

    Hi Lee and Parajba.

How did you get on with your rides? I heard it was a little wet and a hilly course. Would be nice to know how your bikes went?Big Smile [:D]

    Hi Pirateman!

    Thanks for asking!

A bit disappointing...I didn't go as it was p1ss1ng down...didn't want to catch a cold...in 3 weeks I'm getting married, so didn't want to risk...

My next race is just after the wedding, 31/5/08, Albury Surrey Hills (http://www.evanscycles.com/rideit.jsp?item_id=720)...I'm planning to enter 3 races in June and 3 in July...also thinking of doing the Dragon Ride in Wales...

Bike is simple awesome, couldn't be happier!

    Hi Parajba,

Not sure wheather to say sorry or congrats. That is sorry on the sportive and congrates on the weddingWink [;)]

I've got a sportive this weekend in Stamford and I will do the Norwich 100 (charity ride) in June followed by the Northern Rock sportive. In early July, I am off to Brest to watch the TdF and ride for a week in Brittany with a french friend of mine. After that I will have to look and see what is coming up. We may meet up at a sportive?Surprise [:O]. The Dragon Ride is a tough one so good luck if you can enter it.

    Hi Pirateman!

I entered the Dragon Ride! ...and I came 172th out of 740 riders! quality! Loved every single bit.

Now I'm planning my next race...not sure which one though...perhaps the Devil Ride?

How did the Nothern Rock sportive go?

    Re: UK Cyclosportive

    Hi Parajba,

I did the 62 mile route B with my brother as this was his second one. For me all went well. I did it in 4 hrs 00mins16 sec. My brother worked out the times and I came in 79th /590 and 9th/86 for my age (young 52!!!!).  The weather was lovely for the day.  Check out www.marathon-photos.com and click on cyclone challenge and on route B insert bib no 54 and check out the photos of me in action on the hills (not a pretty sight). Not sure what my next sportive will be, looking for one at the end of July. Yorkshire is calling!!!

    Re: UK Cyclosportive

    Hi Parajba,

Well that is me sorted. I have entered the Devil Ride in August. The Yorkshire ride dates did not work out for me.

The yellow jersey is of course, as an Italian you would know, the Mercatone Uno Bianchi team top from 1998 (Marco Pantani). I have been after the bib shorts and I now see that http://www.prendas.co.uk/details.asp?ID=1935 (this is not a direct link, cut and paste)  have them on offer on thier web site. I have ordered mineSmile [:)]

Would be good to meet up on the ride if you can make it?

    Hi Pirateman!

That would be great! Unfortunately my wife doesn't want to go to Wales...long story but I'm allowed to do local sportives (i.e. 1 hour from London) only in July/Aug...pity, I really wanted to do another race in Wales.

Here's a picture of mine from the Dragon Ride...

    Re: UK Cyclosportive

Great looking bike. I have redone my handle bars the same as yours. Did not like the tape wound all the way to the stem.

Sorry to hear the slight!!!! cut back on sportives at present. How about the Rockingham Roller at the end of August. I think I will do that one also.

Ok off to the TdF on Thursday, back on Tuesday. I want to speak to you on training hols in Italy (Riccione Hols).

    Re: UK Cyclosportive

Thanks! it's my pride and my joy! :-)

I find the handlebar (FSA K Wing) really well designed, very comfy.

The Rockingham Roller sounds good, I'll let you know...
Re France - I'm quite jealous...you are off to the TdF...lucky...I wish I could go too!
