Trek 1.7 or Bianchi Via Nirone Alu/Carbon

This may sound a stupid question to ask, but i am trying to decide between the two bikes and need some advice from people who own a Bianchi.

I will be using the bike for training, doing around 100-130 miles a week, and I am leaning towards the Bianchi, BUT a couple of friends who ride and do TT, say that the Bianchi will just keep breaking!!!!!

Also, that I should not get it with Campag if I do, only use Shimano.

I am confused as have not ridden a road bike in yrs, only x country and downhill.

    Any advice appreciated, either way.

    Regards,

    Rob

With regard to Shimano, someone says never have them: their nickname is also Shitmano. They also say use only Campa. Well I have Ultegra and it works fine. I have experience of over 10 000 km with Nirone and I agree it's good for non racing rides but if you are not so serious you can race with it too. Perhaps some other model migth be more for racing forexample 1885 of the cheapest ones.

bianchi has been around for years. it is tradition. look at it this way, i would rather ride my 10 year old bmw than a new ford. you know what you get when riding a bianchi. i find shimano easier to use but campy holds up better.

I have had the same dilemma although I also looked at the specialized Allez sport elite too Was warned against trek due to the frame as someone in one of my partners cycling club came off his Trek and cut through the tubing. I have Specialized Transition and Stumpjumper Pro and after riding the Spec and the Bianchi, went for the Bianchi.
