    Re: Where are you from and what Bianchi do you own??

    Sorry Robart, just realized that I had the wrong poster. This was meant for AR2966.

    I am also from Canada although born and raised in The Netherlands and logged many kms on the Dutch and Belgian cobbles before coming to Canada. Also spend a few summers stomping around in Italia.

    I (mostly) ride  my 2005 1885 all aluminum (no carbon for me other than the fork). It came with the full Veloce 2x10 groupo, but I replaced that with an Ultegra groupo and a Truvativ GXP triple crank. Then added a set of Easton wheels, FSA carbon seat post and  Selle Italia seat, ITM stem and FSA wing bars and I replaced the Columbus Tusk with a Profile Design all carbon fork (500 vs 380grm). She is a sweetheart to ride even on unpaved country roads and trips of 40km or better. I would post a pic if I knew how, but I am nearly PC illiterate and usually say thank you when the little lite comes on. So maybe later.

    And Martin, you're no longer the only 60yr old here. Passed that milestone myself a few weeks ago and don't feel a darn bit older than I did before.

    Enjoy the ride & keep the rubberside down!

    Re: Where are you from and what Bianchi do you own??

    I live in Portland, OR and ride a 2001 XL EV2, aka the "Pantani Bike" with Record 10 (replacement for the original Record 9) and Campy Neutron wheels. I bought this bike new and have put probably 45,000 miles on it. The old warrior is showing its age, I'm afraid, and this year I plan to retire the frame to a honored wall in my garage and buy a carbon 928 SL HC. Does anyone know if there are any signficant differences between the 2007 and 2008 versions?

    Re: Where are you from and what Bianchi do you own??

    Hello!! I'm Francesco, aged 25, from Modena, Italy. I own two Bianchi, I suppose produced between 1990-1992, from the info I had about them. I bought them new, because they' ve been in a store for many years, before I bought them. The first one is a Bianchi Sirio 604, with Shimano Components, the second is a Bianchi Vento 606 with Campagnolo. For my trainings, that for now are not so serious, I always use Sirio 604, even because, for now I haven' t still applicated sport pedals on that one. I' ve always liked so much Bianchi bicycles, they' ve always been my favourite ones, but I didn' t imagine that so many people from foreign countries liked those bicycles too. I usually go out for a trip during the weekend with my brother and some friends (with whom I founded a little team..), but I' m the only one with this fixation about Bianchi, so I can feel finally understood with you guys!! Thank you!! Ahahah..all right..just kidding uh!

    So, it' s been a pleasure to discover this forum, good bye and have a good day,

    Francesco.

    Re: Where are you from and what Bianchi do you own??

    I´m from Brazil, and I (actually, my grandmother)  have one realy old Bianchi (aproximately 1946), here I didnt found any help to restaure it, because there are several serious problems just like broken frame and the gear(i´m not sure if it os the right word).
    at the moment I don´t have any pictures here with me and I ask if some one can help me to restaure it with pictures, schemes, manuals, I´ll be very pleased.
     Thank You, soon I´ll put here some pictures.

    Frankie;

    I am very fortunate living in Florida since I can ride outdoors all year long.

    It must be great to ride in Italy right??

    Re: Where are you from and what Bianchi do you own??

    Hi Syndicate,

    yes, it' s great to ride in Italy. My town is settled near the Appennini and here people enjoy cycling (not in the cities like in the Netherlands, but mostly like a sport activity), on and off the road. It' s not like living on the Alpes but you can find many good places to go by bicycle. I don' t think, for what I' ve heard and seen on tv, that there are many mountains in Florida, ain' t it? But I think that it would be fine anyway to ride, with that weather during all the year..you' re so f*****g lucky!! Here it' s very cold in winter and usually I stop riding between november and february. Which town are you from?

    Good bye, Francesco.

    Oetzi;

    I loved seeing the rows and rows of bike all over Amsterdam. I wish we in the US would ride bikes more and rely less on automobiles.
