Re: Where are you from and what Bianchi do you own??

    Hello All:

My name is Michael.  I live in San Francisco, California.

I bought my first Bianchi in 1994 [a Veloce].  In 2004 I bought an Imola and later that year another Veloce.

About 10 days ago both bikes were stolen from my basement.  It was an inside job since the burglar used two keys to get into the street and inner doors [police think it was the new maid service hired by the first floor tenants].

Anyway, I was insured to the max and had replacement cost coverage.  For those of you who do not know what that is, replacement cost means the insurance company pays you whatever it cost to get a new whatever that was damaged or stolen.  So in my claim, the carrier looked what the current price of a 2007 Veloce and Imola cost, and that is what they paid me.  I also had $500 in equipment and mods on the bikes, so that was covered too.

Anyway, took the $4000 and bought a used 2006 San Lorenzo for $2000.  Came with an FSA triple crank and Dura-Ace shift [cassette], over $500 in these add ons.  Just got done this week buying and adding on all kinds of neat stuff, like a Fizik saddle and Vittoria Rubino Pro tires, both in celeste, of course.

Really glad to have found the site.

San Lorenzo below, taken yesterday on my ride with the new Rubino Pro tires.

    Bianchi_Don:

    Hello All,

This is Don from San Diego.  I received by dream bike last week for my birthday.  My wife purchased me a new 2006 Bianchi Voloce.  Old school steel frame with full Campy gear.  Celeste Green!  Steel is real!  She replaced the seat and seat post with a Specialized S-Works carbon/gel post and Specialized race seat.  What a great ride.  I did 32 miles of fatigue free riding Friday.  This bike will be passed to my grandchildren some day.  It's pure art work.

    Regards,

    Don

    Hey Don,

See my post where I said I had two of the Veloce.  You got a GREAT bike.  Mine were trouble free and when I was on the road everyone admired my bikes.

You may want to consider getting some Vittoria celeste tires.  See my pic with those tires on the bike.  You will look hot on the road.  The Rubino Pro tires I had never had a flat, and I had ridden over broken glass many times [when it could not be avoided].

    Here they are on eBay:

Also, if you use clipless pedals, get some celeste pedals.  I have always used Ritchey or Wellgo SPD pedals.  See them on my bike.  From time to time they show up on eBay.  Simply search "Bianchi pedal" and they might pop up.  The link below is for the Look type pedals.  I use SPD, so those don't appeal to me.

Re: Where are you from and what Bianchi do you own??

I posted my introduction on a separate thread but thot I do so here as well. From Singapore and got hold of a 2001 Giro d'Italia replica Bianchi XL recently. It's pre-owned but mostly new parts. So far, took it out for a night ride already with some buddies and absolutely loving the bike.

I hope in a couple of years time, I will go on with my second bike, which will be a Bianchi, for sure...

G'day, I'm Keke from Sunshine State, Queensland, Australia. I'm new to the wonderful world of Bianchi, having owned Colnago, Trek and Privitera in the past.

I've attached a photo of my new ride... Looking forward to 'getting to know' my new ride and adding a few kilometres onto it. It has Campag Centeur group set and Campag Scirocco wheelset.

Ja terveisia kaikille suomalaisille. Olen 'entinen' helsinkilainen...

Re: Where are you from and what Bianchi do you own??

Hello from Tampa, FL. I am 34 and just picked up my first road bike, which happens to be a San Lorenzo. I bought this from someone who built it up with Sram Force and who only used for a few months to train for MTB during the "off-season". I don't know what it was, but something kept pulling me towards bianchi and this scandium frame in particular. Don't know what it was, but I am happy with the purchase. The body seems to feel good on the bike, but again I don't have any real reference point except my MTB.

Re: Where are you from and what Bianchi do you own??

    Hi all,

My name is Andy I am a very proud owner of a C2C with very attractive curved geometry. I ride every week in between playing rugby and studying for a degree. I can't stop looking at my bike, not meaning a well used woman, but the Celeste and Black two wheeled beauty in my garage. I live in Saddleworth, and every road in and out involes a steep hill. My C2C offers comfort on them there hills, but i am still getting used to the campy setup. My previous bike was a Trek/Ultegra. If anything is to be gained from cycling its a fantastic Bianchi bike, massive quads and a third lung.

    Hello,

I am from Munich (Bavaria) and this is my Bianchi 2007. With the setup shown on the picture it has 8,18kg.

During the winter I will change some parts - in particular the frame: the new one will be a Freccia Celeste HA Smile [:)]

    Happy cycling!

Re: Where are you from and what Bianchi do you own??

Living in Santa Monica California as we speak. And no, I didn't vote for evil Bush. This is my first road bike ever and I made the right choice. When in doubt go Italian, specifically Bianchi. I love this two wheel wonder. It has replaced surfing as my life long passion and I ride it every chance I get, usually 3 to 4 times a week.

    The Freccia Celeste Specs:

Brand new 2005 Freccia Celeste frameset ( I scored!!!)
    Fulcrum Racing 7
    Look Keo sprint pedals
    Specialized Team Toupe saddle
FSA SL-K Carbon light seat post
    FSA carbon headset
    Bianchi carbon covered stem
    ITM wing handlebars
FSA Carbon Pro crankset (soon to be replace)
    Tektor Brake Calipers
Shimano brake levers, fr/rr derailers and cassette (soon to be replaced. I'm not a shimano monopoly fan)

Re: Where are you from and what Bianchi do you own??

My name is Sam and I'm from Omaha, Nebraska....which is basically in the middle of the USA.  Last year I wanted a San Lorenzo, but they were discontinued and I wasn't able to locate one in my size.  I ended up ordering a 928 C2C Chorus 10 Compact and have been enjoying it all summer!  My riding was complicated by buying a house and playing bass in 2 bands, but once things settled down, I hit the roads hard.  Upon getting a Campagnolo Ergobrain when I had the money, I learned to bike the right way and improved my speed by leaps and bounds!

The riding season is pretty much over, but I'll be indoors training and waiting for it to warm up again for next summer.  I plan to be much more aggressive next year and plan on joining a local team.
